Do You Suffer From The Nightmare of Scalp Eczema?
Scalp eczema is not just itchy and uncomfortable but it is also something which makes us feel embarrassed and anti-social.
At one point in my life my scalp was so badly covered in eczema that my hair began to fall out. The scalp was very dry and itchy, if I turned my head slightly a snowfall of skin would blow out of my hair, I was distraught. The follicles were weakened and the hair could be quite easily pulled out, without any pain.
This was the point where I decided to act – enough was enough. My hair was my pride and joy and I was not going to lose it.
I began my research into what I could use to remedy the situation and my first, probably most important piece of information, was the fact that normal, everyday shampoos which we all use, contain harsh chemicals which can badly irritate sensitive skin.
The worst chemical being Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLS). This chemical compound is actually used to clean car engines! The substance can also cause hairloss due to the damage to the scalp and follicles. So I needed to eliminate this from my hair washing routine to begin healing my scalp eczema.
This led me to my first remedy which was organic shampoo & conditioner. They are reasonably hard to obtain, but it’s getting better, if you look around big shopping stores there will usually be a section for organic beauty products.
Now after just a first washes of the new organic shampoo, my scalp began to vastly improve. Changing my shampoo was definitely a great help but because my scalp had been so terrible it was still a bit itchy and flaky.
After more research I was led in the direction of an book called Dry Itchy Scalp Remedies. At first I was unsure whether this could help me, however, after implementing the advice given in the book I found a miraculous change in the condition of my scalp.
There were many remedies in the book (all natural) and after implementing just a few of the strategies I began to reap the benefits.
Examples of Natural Remedies For Scalp Conditions
- Dry, itchy Scalp. One of the natural remedies, which I found very simple was to wet the hair, cover the scalp in olive oil and wrap in a towel. Leave for around 20 minutes then gently wash out. That is just one of many methods to ease the scalp and treat the condition.
- Dandruff.1 tablespoon of honey,5 drops thyme and peppermint oil, 3 drops of sage oil and 5 drops of carrot oil (instead of oils you can use fresh herbs steeped in water). This formula is also beneficial for scalp odours.
Don’t worry if some of the remedies sound a bit complicated there are actually quite straightforward and there are lots of simple methods like the olive oil.
After using a few of the remedies, I couldn’t believe the difference in the condition of my scalp. The eczema had cleared up and the dry, tight itchiness had vanished. My hair was stonger in the root and I was able to brush it confident that handfuls wouldn’t come out.
I an so thankful to Mia Wadsworth (the author) as I really didn’t think there would be a solution.
If you are suffering as I did, I strongly recommend this book, as it covers absolutely everything, not just eczema and dry scalp but other scalp conditions such as psoriasis and dermatitis. You can downlaod it instantly and start implementing the strategies to clear your scalp and have beautiful hair again.
If you don’t want to get the book just yet , you can take advantage of the free mini ebook and Natural Beauty Course.

I’ve was diagnosed with eczema mid last year and have been struggling with it since. Last time I saw your article, I tried your Burts Bees shampoo, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be working for me. I’ve been reading around and I found a suggestion for Tea Tree oil shampoo. I just bought some today, the brand is from Herbal Authority. I was just wondering if you’ve heard anything about this? Thanks. Also, your blog is great. It’s really a great reference for me. Thank you for all the work you’ve put into it!
